Class Timetable and Descriptions

Please note *changes in starting time of some of the classes

Monday 7-8:15pm.

Class taught by Matthew France (Paul Grilley Yin yoga certified). This is a Yin Yoga class suitable for all, and particularly recommended for beginners and athletes. In this class we practice  deep floor postures for three to five minutes at a time. The practice particularly targets the connective tissue of the hips, thighs, pelvis and lower spine.

Tuesday 6:15-8pm *

This is a Continuum Yoga Yin/Yang flow class with a balanced, medium to slow, mindful flow that starts with Yin openings (long hold) and evolves gradually and fluidly into a more Yang, dynamic sequence that targets the upper body. It finishes with a few Yin or calming postures and a relaxation.

Wednesday 6:00-7:00pm (Starting from the 6th of September)*

This is a Continuum Power Yoga, a dynamic creative flow class with a medium pace that still allows you to incorporate full breath, functional alignment and undulation. It includes more Yang postures that strengthen the upper body and ends with calming posture/s and a relaxation. A great class for developing core strength and a balanced, strong body. (This is a a more aerobic yoga experience and requires reasonable level of general fitness).

Thursday 1:30-3pm

This is an Iyengar Style class with an emphasis on functional alignment, where you learn to strengthen and balance your musculo-skeletal system. We explore a range of postures from more Yin to very Yang. Ends with calming postures and a relaxation.

For beginners I recommend Yin Yoga, Continuum Yoga Yin/yang flow and Iyengar style.

Advice and guidance

When practicing Yoga, let go of the competitive mind set. Real Yoga is not just a work-out, it is not just techniques for relaxation, and it not just cross-training. It is a spiritual practice that makes the body stronger, more flexible, and generally much healthier. The purpose is to calm the mind, open the heart, and stimulate our spiritual evolution.

“Asana practice serves two purposes, it develops awareness of chi movement in the physical dimension and prepares the body for sitting comfortably in meditation. Yin yoga is the relaxed practice of floor postures for three to five minutes at a time, it emphasises the connective tissues of the hips, thighs, pelvis and lower spine. By drawing awareness away from the muscles and deeper into the bones, a deep level of relaxed focus is achieved. Yang yoga is the rhythmic, flowing repetition of movements that require strength and balance. A Yang practice emphasises the muscle tissues and circulatory system. Yang yoga leaves one feeling invigorated and alert” -Paul Grilley, Yin Yoga Teacher Trainer

Student Feedback

“I feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity to come to yoga classes with Gaby at Continuum Yoga Studio 3 or 4 times a week over the last two months, instead of just once a week. The benefits of practicing yoga more regularly soon became apparent with improved breathing and posture as well as increased strength and flexibility. Less obvious but equally important to me, having had bouts of depression since my mum died, are the psychological effects. I feel more optimistic, less stressed and prepared to face life’s ups and downs. It is most definitely worth investing this time in your self”

C. Shuttleworth, Windermere, UK

“I’m especially grateful to Gabriela for having worked with me to help me reduce the severe scoliosis that I have had for 40 years and I believed that would only get worse.”

Dr. Jane Mathiesen, UK

"I really enjoyed your class and learnt more with you in 2 hours, than I have in twenty years with half a dozen different teachers! I particularly enjoyed the pace and your deep appreciation for the sacred."

R. Whiting, Windermere, UK
